Esker Festival Orchestra Performance recorded at The Long Yard Studio, curated and conducted by Director Peter Joyce.
A reimagined and special Esker Festival Orchestra rehearsed, performed and recorded a beautiful programme of music at the Long Yard Studio, Cork last week featuring a collection of Ireland’s finest young professional musicians.
The beautiful programme of music includes Gustav Mahler’s Songs of a Wayfarer, Six Pieces for Orchestra, Op. 6 by Anton Webern and, Bach’s Cantata ‘Ich habe genug’ BWV 82. The Bach Cantata features two newly composed interludes by Christopher Moriarty and Peter Joyce. The ensemble is made up of previous soloists, tutors and members and will feature Carolyn Holst as soloist.
This event was originally streamed live on Sunday September 6th and is brought to Civic Trust House by the Esker Festival Orchestra & Irish Association of Youth Orchestras. Special thanks to Peter Joyce and the EFO for allowing us to stream it for Culture Night.
