A group of children from Ballincollig venture into a remote game of initiation in magic in hopes of transforming the world into a better place.
An experimental short film by Teatro Container in collaboration with Cork Midsummer Festival, Linda Curtin, Francesca Castellano and Cork Film Centre. With support from Cork City Council and Creative Ireland. In the weeks leading up to and beyond Cruinniú na nÓg the children created handcrafted wizardry, cooked up ancient magic potions, performed neighbourhood enchantments, recorded and shared video stories.
Meet some of them in Ballincollig Regional Park and Cork Film Centre at Gunpowder Mills where they show you their magic Druid characters and their wishes for the future.
This film was created as the final part of Little Druids for Humanity, a long distance arts project and adventure. Cruinniú na nÓg is an initiative of the Creative Ireland Programme at the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht and is presented in partnership with RTÉ and the Local Authorities.
