#CorkLovesMusic, as part of Culture Night, presents the latest in a series of talk and performance events, designed to open up discussion and provide a place to share ideas in Cork music, and the second in a series of events on the current situation facing Cork’s musical and artistic practitioners.

On the night of Friday September 22nd at the Roundy, as the city lights up with music and art, some of the city’s most important musicians and facilitators, from festivals to labels, will converge to share their experiences in the arts in Cork. Over a series of short talks, they will address the current situation surrounding availability of venues and spaces for music in the city, and outline their opinions on how best for the arts community to proceed. These talks will be followed by a discussion panel, and open Q&A session.

Accompanying the discussion will be live performances from Corkman Andy Wilson & guests, one-man anti-folk outfit The Poor Decisions, with more performers to be announced in the run-up, while the entire event will be recorded for addition to the growing library of talks and performances available on #CorkLovesMusic’s YouTube channel.

For further updates on additions to the lineup, please stay tuned to #CorkLovesMusic on Facebook and Twitter.

#CorkLovesMusic is a cooperative of music and media professionals, formed after TEDx CorkSalon’s CorkLovesMusic event in September 2016. Working in collaboration with local festivals like Sounds from a Safe Harbour, Townlands Carnival and Cork Midsummer Festival, as well as community organisations like GroundFloor Studio, the group’s aim is to open up new conversations in and around Cork’s resurgent music community via its series of talk and performance events.
