Nano Nagle Place will be hosting literary, musical and theatre events across Culture Night. Although this year our events aren’t specifically aimed at children, families are welcome to visit the site and there will be some fun things to do.

Fear an Rothair/The Bicycle Man

8:00pm

Dráma ilmhéan, bunaithe ar scríbhinní Fir na Rothar a chuaigh thart timpeall na tíre ag múineadh na Gaeilge 100 bliain ó shin. Gabh ag taisteal le ‘Fear an Rothair’ agus fan san áit ar fhan sé féin… ‘gan solas sa tigh go lastá féin coinneal, an cába fliuch báidhte…’ (Peadar Ó hAnnracháin). Bainfear úsáid as taifeadtaí i nGaeilge agus i mBéarla freisin le scéalta na bhfear seo a insint. Beidh Ciorcal Comhrá ann ina dhiaidh.

Á chur i láthair ag Seoid Productions / Ocean of Notions Theatre Company, le maoiniú ó Oireachtas na Gaeilge.

Let the Irish language touch the core of our collective memory with this drama performed in Irish by ‘Fear an Rothair’, with sound recordings in Irish and English revealing reflections of people from that time, and the continuing ripple effects down through the generations to today’s Irish speakers and new learners. A linguistic journey that endures!

Following this 20 minute drama you are invited to stay for our ‘ciorcal comhrá’, welcoming you to chat in Irish. Even if you have just a ‘cúpla focal’, stay around for our friendly informal gathering.

Funded by Oireachtas na Gaeilge, in association with Nano Nagle Place.
