A craft market will be held in the County Hall Foyer with work from members of Cork Craft & Design. Don’t miss a chance to meet the makers, see live demonstration of traditional skills, and purchase fantastic original work in jewellery, ceramics, prints, woodturning and furniture.

If you ever wanted a chance to write a diary but weren’t sure how to start, or keep going, now’s your chance. Alice Carey, author of From Manhattan to West Cork: Alice’s Adventures in Ireland, will be conducting half-hour workshops exploring the art of diary writing, people who’ve kept them, and what works and doesn’t in creating one’s own. Buoyed by fellow participants you’ll write an entry, perhaps even read aloud, and all will end up a step ahead on one of the most exciting writing forms one can master.

Jazz trio, Filology (David O’Connor – Guitar; John Philip Murray – Drums; and Pat Barrett – Bass) will perform with readings from poet Bernadette Gallagher punctuating the melodies.

Don’t miss readings from poet Doireann Ní Ghríofa, a bilingual writer whose work explores birth, death, desire and domesticity. Among her awards are the Rooney Prize for Irish Literature and the Michael Hartnett Award. She writes “with tenderness and unflinching curiosity” (Poetry magazine, Chicago).

Artist Hazel Hurley illustrates your view from the 17th floor.
