Brian Deady has just been revealed as the much-anticipated Cork Culture Night Secret Gig, which will take place in Cork on Friday September 16th as part of Culture Night. This year Culture Night Cork City will involve over 100 venues and 200 free events. A host of music, theatre, film, visual arts, exhibitions and guided tours will take place and everything is free.
Organised by the Arts Office in Cork City Council, the venue for the Secret Gig will remain a closely guarded secret until Friday September 16th!
Brian Deady who has recently been signed to Decca Records in London, is a highly acclaimed soul singer whose long-awaited second album Non-Fiction has been met with wide critical acclaim from the likes of The Sunday Times calling it “Bare-Knuckle and Remarkable” and The Irish Times stating “Ireland has a new soul star in its midst” . He was rated at the weekend by Independent.ie as No 1 of the top 10 picks of Electric Picnic.
His first single A Darkness was featured by Nialler9, The Irish Times and the prestigious UK blog Record Of The Day. His next single taken from the new album Clap Both My Hands was previewed by Skream on BBC Radio 1 and featured as the opening theme song for the 2015 RTE Sports Awards. It also scored a No.1 in The Irish R&B Singles Charts and Top 20 in the overall Album Charts.
This record follows up his acclaimed Interview album. Brian Deady has shared the stage live with De La Soul, Janelle Monae, Candi Staton and Chic, picking up a glowing testimonial from Nile Rodgers along the way.
